We’ve assessed the benefits and risks associated with relevant technological advancements and compiled this course about maintaining firm and client confidentiality and avoiding accidental or inadvertent disclosure. This seminar discusses the security challenges and rewards of various technologies and some best practices for protecting private data in a world of rapidly spreading information technology. We’ll cover topics like: securely connecting to a depo in realtime, emailing securely, security measures when using cell phones or email, ransomeware and data loss, responding to real or potential hacks and ways to shield your data from hackers.

Mike’s technical expertise includes proficiency in software across the entire spectrum of legal applications. As the former president and founder of the realtime software company, Transcript Manager Pro, he is also an integral member of the Veritext product development team.
This team is dedicated to examining industry and technological trends in order to create leading edge programs and applications to facilitate the litigation process. In addition, Mike travels throughout the nation providing expert, informative, entertaining and educational CLEs, educational instruction, and product demonstrations to legal professionals. He is a regular speaker at a variety of legal events and has been published in several industry publications.

Jonathan Pearl has two decades worth of experience in the court reporting business. Fifteen of those years have been faithfully devoted to his senior business development executive role at Veritext. Jonathan is a seasoned presenter having conducted numerous CLE courses and is an expert in the technological tools that Veritext offers for litigation support services.

Andy Fredericks is the Regional Vice President for Veritext Legal Solutions in the Mountain Region, overseeing operations across six states. He focuses on organic growth, client experience, employee development, and industry innovation.
Since joining Veritext in 2014, Andy has held leadership roles including Account Executive, National Director of Reporter Engagement, and Director of Operations in California. His broad industry experience, paired with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Rutgers Executive Leadership Program training, equips him to drive advanced management and technology initiatives. A frequent speaker, he has contributed to CEU and CLE programs nationwide.
Before Veritext, Andy was an Operational Partner at Fredericks Reporting & Litigation Services in Texas, working alongside his father and building deep expertise in deposition services. His background as a videographer further shaped his understanding of legal professionals’ needs. With a passion for excellence, Andy continues to champion innovation and growth at Veritext.
Megan Carosi brings extensive Sales and Marketing experience to Veritext, with the last decade in Sales Leadership roles. Megan has played an integral part in building and leading sales teams most recently at Builder Homesite, Inc. and ADP. Her previous experience was focused on both new business generation along with the development and execution of organic growth strategies.
Megan is located in Denver and is a life-long resident of the great state of Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado where she majored in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Megan and her family are avid skiers and when their free time isn’t spent on the ski slopes, they enjoy traveling both within the states and internationally.
