Deposition Resources, founded in 2002 by Chris Mart, began with a simple request from a fellow reporter: Could she cover a deposition, and if so, could she bill and produce the transcript herself? Although Chris had been an independent reporter for five years, she had never handled billing or transcript production on her own. With the support and guidance of fellow reporters, the opportunity inspired Chris to learn the full scope of running a court reporting business and quickly grew Deposition Resources from an independent practice into a respected service provider.

Two years later, Chris’ husband, Mike, left his position at Texas Instruments to join the company. Together, Chris and Mike expanded Deposition Resources’ offerings to include video services and trial presentation support. Throughout its 23-year history, the company has remained dedicated to delivering exceptional service, meticulous attention to detail, and the warm, personalized experience that comes from a family-run business. Their commitment to clients has led them to support proceedings not only locally, but also across the country and internationally, including New York, California, and France.

After 22 years of building and running the business together, Mike passed away following a long health battle. As Deposition Resources prepared for the future, Chris sought a partner whose values aligned with the company’s longstanding focus on quality, innovation, and client service. Veritext quickly emerged as the ideal fit.
