How long do I need to stay on post-acquisition?

There is no single answer to this question. It really depends on the company and current role of the owner.  We try to accommodate the owner’s interest in either joining the Veritext team for as long as they may be interested or transitioning more quickly out of the business.  If the owner has become passive in the business and has limited day-to-day responsibilities, then there is a limited need for a transition period.  However, if the owner currently has recurring responsibilities and relationships with staff, reporters, and/or clients, then we would require a transitional consulting role for anywhere between three to twelve months, depending on the size of the business and scope of the owner’s current role.
