Veritext Presents Deposition Technology to Students at Green River College
On May 7th members of the Veritext team headed to Green River College in Auburn, WA to host a “Lunch and Learn” with students from the Court Reporting Program.
Mike Murray, Director of Client Solutions for Veritext, began the event with a presentation on deposition technology, walking students through the importance of cutting-edge technologies, deposition solutions and the role the court reporter plays.
Following the presentation, Julia Obien and Green River alumni Cheryl Mangio, principals from YOM: Full Service Court Reporting, A Veritext Company, held an open discussion with students about being a court reporter and exciting developments in the industry at large.
Over the years, Cheryl and Julia have devoted numerous hours to supporting court reporting students, including teaching the first A-Z Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand in Washington State. Dedicated to helping more students advance in their training, Obien and Mangio regularly partner with Green River College to help educate the next generation of stenographers by hosting students at their office during Court Reporting & Captioning Week, visiting students in the classroom, as well as providing student scholarships to attend conferences.
